He was accused previous year when fellow Rocky Horror star Christie Whelan-Browne, who played the character of Janet, made allegations of sexual misconduct.

Actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with indecent assault and other offences.

Australian actor Craig McLachlan has been charged with one count of common assault and eight counts of indecent assault by police.

He won accolades for his role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show before allegations of sexual assault surfaced a year ago.

The 53 year old actor rose to worldwide fame from his appearance in Home and Away and Neighbours.

McLachlan, famous for his starring roles in the Doctor Blake Mysteries, Neighbours and Home and Away was charged on summons to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on February 8, 2019.

The actor's career began in 1987 when he was cast as the brother of Kylie Minogue's character, Charlene, in Neighbours. The song reached no 4 in Australia and no 10 in the UK.

After appearing in a number of TV projects, he returned to Australia to work on the Doctor Blake Mysteries, a period drama set in Ballarat. He has been married to Karen Williams (1986) and Rachel Friend (1998-99).
