Even more impressive is the fact that the camera fitted inside the stylus will have optical zoom hardware for a more superior magnification compared to digital zoom. Adding a camera to an external peripheral such as the S-Pen with a button used to control the zoom could get around this issue.

When you think of the Samsung Galaxy Note (phones or tablets) one of the biggest points of difference for the range is the S Pen and the functionality it offers users.

Does this mean well see a Samsung Galaxy Note10 with a camera in the S-Pen? "The electric pen device includes a control board configured to interact with an electronic device and a communication module configured to communicate by wire or wirelessly with the electronic device, so that an image or a picture taken by a camera is confirmed and an optical zoom is controlled from the external electronic device", says the abstract in the USPTO patent. Although it is hard to digest that the upcoming Galaxy Note device will be missing the selfie camera and as per a guess, the S Pen has to be connected with the smartphone while taking a selfie so that even the user can have a preview of the same. It was first spotted by Patently Mobile and brought to our attention by our buddies at TechRadar.

Samsung has been granted a patent that could allow the S Pen to sport a camera, optical zoom features as well.

If the next-generation S Pen will indeed feature a camera that would prove to be more powerful than the usual smartphone sensor, the question remains whether the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 would still feature a camera on the rear panel? And if the camera is good enough, imagine how stable your videos could be when you're holding a pen that only weighs an ounce or two. Are you using a Galaxy Note Smartphone? Not unless, of course, Samsung manages to put flash data storage in the S Pen too. This is all in addition to taking regular notes.
