The release of the Resident Evil 2 remake is creeping closer and closer, and soon you'll get a taste of the action.

Express Online has contacted Capcom for more information about the 1-shot demo. Thus, we have the burgeoning, likely short-lived, idea of speedrunning the thing.

The new demo for the Resident Evil 2 remake is here, giving players a chance to finally dive into the game and try it out. The full game itself on the PC is 26GB in total.

The Resident Evil 2 demo download size is 7.91GB according to a listing on the Australian PS Store. If you own a powerful enough PC, PS4, and Xbox One, you can download the demo on each and play through it on every machine.

The demo does, however, need an internet connection in order to play. You won't be able to play it without an Internet connection. The original is more than 20 years old, after all.

Early in the demo, you'll encounter a police officer who screams for your help. Should you complete the demo before the allotted half hour elapses, you can restart to use up the remaining time.

At the end of the demo, regardless of whether or not you successfully complete it, you'll be treated to an exclusive cinematic trailer.

While you can not replay the demo after your 30 minutes are up using the same account, there are ways of replaying it.

It was recently revealed that the Resident Evil 2 Remake demo has an interesting gimmick attached.
