Morata has been linked with a return to La Liga this winter, with Sevilla among the clubs to have registered and interest in the former Real Madrid forward, though the club has admitted that a deal for the Spain global would be "very, very complicated".

Morata appeared to start the new season as Maurizio's Sarri's first-choice striker ahead of Giroud.

Therefore, according to Sky Sports, the club is starting to give more consideration to Callum Wilson, a player who has scored nine Premier League goals this season and made his England debut.

Morata is now widely expected to leave Chelsea this month and few of his teammates will miss him, with his "meek attitude" becoming a source of frustration among his teammates. "It's all too complicated, it sounds very odd".

Atletico joined the hunt for Morata earlier this week in an attempt to replace Diego Costa, who is now recovering from a foot injury.

The Telegraph also claims Atletico could enter the race to sign Morata this month, favouring a loan deal for the 26-year-old.

'The only thing I'm thinking about is the upcoming match against Levante, ' Simeone said.

"It is true that I've heard this rumour, but he is not our player; he is Chelsea's and we have to respect them".

"I can't confirm or deny anything because coaches wait to see what the club can do. We need to wait until January 31".

The Spanish League giants will only get the chance to sign the former Los Blancos forward if they also sell a couple of players this transfer window.

Instead, Costa and Morata could be lining up alongside one another in Spain during the second half of the season, if reports are to be believed.
