He added, "The players must be immediately suspended pending a proper inquiry and must be allowed to join the team (if selected) only once they have gone through a proper sensitisation in addition to serving a ban, if imposed upon them. If they can book tickets then tomorrow they will be leaving (for India) or latest by day after", a senior BCCI official told PTI. "Considering that the BCCI at present does not have an Ombudsman, the COA, in our view, will be justified in and entitled to appoint an ad hoc ombudsman with a defined specific mandate of adjudicating on the present matter".

Pandya and Rahul's recent appearance on Indian talk show "Koffee with Karan", during which the former detailed how he bragged to his parents about losing his virginity, has created a storm in their homeland.

"You are hereby suspended with immediate effect from participating in any manner whatsoever in any match or activity authorized or supported by the BCCI, the ICC or any State Association, until final adjudication of the matter", read the letter.

Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai recommended a two-match suspension for the duo.

In case the two are brought back from Australia, the likes of Rishabh Pant and Manish Pandey will be in contention to be their replacements.

Their remarks on the show were also condemned by India captain Virat Kohli, who called them inappropriate.

"These are purely individual opinions. we definitely, as the Indian cricket team, do not support views like that and that has been communicated". "So it's good that we have someone like Jadeja who can do the all-rounder's role if a scenario like that occurs", Kohli said on the eve of the first ODI against Australia.

"From the combination and team balance point of view, yes, you'll have to think about the combination you'll need now".

The cricketers boasted about hooking up with multiple women and Pandya's comments were misogynistic to the next level. The legal team also pointed out that CEO Rahul Johri's initial show-cause notices to Pandya and Rahul had not included specific rules under which the pair could be charged subject to an inquiry. "Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show". Hardik Pandya took to Twitter and issued an apology. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments. "As I said I am a little from the black side (influenced by West Indies culture) so I have to see how they (women) move first".
