It would be quite a shock, from a fit perspective, to see the Yankees out on Machado, who makes so freaking much sense for them and who reportedly really wants to be a Yankee.

The pursuit of free agent infielder Manny Machado by the Chicago White Sox appears to be heating up.

The deal is for $4 million for one year, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Levine stated that Philadelphia's meeting with Bryce Harper in Las Vegas could serve as an "artificial deadline" for Machado's decision. Both clubs have been linked to Harper as well.

The baseball world is waiting with bated breath for the free agency decisions of Manny Machado and Bryce Harper.

Tulowitzki was taken by Colorado with the seventh overall pick in the 2005 amateur draft, became a star with the Rockies, and agreed after the 2010 season to a $157.75 million, 10-year contract that added $132 million over seven seasons.

Tulowitzki was asked on Monday for his thoughts on Machado potentially signing with the Yankees, and he said it would be "awesome".

The Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers have all been mentioned as potential destinations, but the latest buzz is that Harper might be returning to the Washington Nationals after all.

While things might be looking good for the White Sox at the moment, the Phillies could be the difference-maker here if only because they seem to be the only team that could significantly outbid the White Sox.

While a decision may be coming soon, it's still unclear who has the lead in the bidding.
