Redmi Note 7, however, is a lot affordable smartphone.

Redmi Note 6 Pro featured a 5.84-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 * 2280 pixels and aspect ratio of 19:9. Say hello to the Redmi Note 7.

Processor: The Note 7 is powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The top 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model was available for Rs 12,999. Whichever memory combination you pick, there is still support for microSD memory cards (although you will need to let go of the second SIM slot).

For the camera department, the Redmi Note 7 is equipped with a dual camera setup with one 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with LED flash and f/1.8 aperture and another 5-megapixel sensor for depth information.

Also on-board: a 4,000mAh battery, fast charging (the fast charger is an extra option that costs only 10 CNY ($1.5)), an IR blaster, a fingerprint scanner on the back, a USB-C connector and (mercifully) a headphone jack.

Notably, the Redmi Note 7 was recently spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench. The waterdrop notch is circular unlike it is in phones from Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, and others. As far as the overall design of the Redmi Note 7 is concerned the phone looks like Mi Play that was launched in China in December a year ago.

-A phone so cheap with 48MP camera is a big deal. The Redmi Note 7 packs a punch when it comes to specifications.

For the first time in smartphone history, a budget phone will feature a 48-megapixel camera. Unlike many USA-based phones that've made a decision to abandon the ways of the past, this device has an IR-blaster, giving it control over your television should you want it. The Redmi Note 7 is the only phone under Rs 10,000 with Snapdragon 660. On the connectivity front, the handset offers dual 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System.

The company's new Redmi Note 7 is a low-end Android phone focused on markets like India and China. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 in three models in China. The 64GB storage variant with 4GB and 6GB of RAM is priced at CNY 1199 (approx INR 11,999) and CNY 1399 (approx INR 13,999) respectively.
