"When Toadette finds one of these, she can transform into the Super-powered Peachette". Based on this information, it's safe to say that Bowsette won't be made official any time soon.

The meme took off in other factions of fandom, as characters from other Nintendo series, such as Metroid, were also envisioned as having used the Super Crown item.

There was even concept art in The Art of Super Mario Odyssey that showed what would happen if Bowser threw his own version of Cappy at Peach, which would, more or less, create another version of Bowsette. The description inexplicably apologizes to Luigi, which is a whole new layer of trolling Bowsette fans.

People are so enamored with Bowsette that Nintendo apparently became aware of this and decided it should make sure this wouldn't be associated with the family-friendly brand by officially stating that "only Toadette can use this item!"

The Bowsette meme surfaced quickly after the announcement of the Super Crown item for the re-release of New Super Mario Bros. Anyone who pre-purchase the game via the eShop will be able to pre-load the game right away. They've added a little update that claims that the only person who can wear the Super Crowns is Toadette.

Though Nintendo has responded to fan demands before (mainly in Smash Bros), making an Internet fan creation canon would certainly be new territory.

So, there you have it, Nintendo's insistence that "only Toadette can use this item!" seems to be created to shoot down fans hopes of seeing Bowsette. U Deluxe on Nintendo Switch.
