New Marvel Game in Development by Ex-Hearthstone Devs

Dunno! Nexon launched their own mobile Marvel card game, Marvel Battle Lines, only a couple of months ago but it's not the friendliest of things.

The only details that the devs have teased in relation to this new Marvel game is that, along with being able to feature Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the X-Men, it also might include the more niche heroes such as Throg, the Mighty Frog of Thunder.

The developer is currently looking at taking on more staff, with openings now available for a full-time client engineer and technical artist. They also announced that they've secured a big lump of investment from NetEase, the Chinese developers and publishers of many free-to-play PC and pocket telephone games (including the upcoming Blizzard collaboration Diablo Immortal).

To the Hearthstone fans, Ben Brode was the man responsible for skyrocketing the game into awesomeness. "They and the team they've assembled at Second Dinner have made some of the greatest games in history".

(Which means development started at roughly the time Second Dinner was officially revealed.) Today's announcement video doubles as a recruitment pitch, and early job listings mention that the studio wants to make "deep, satisfying games that are optimized for mobile". "I think it's super fun". "I made a spreadsheet so I'm pretty sure".

As with most Marvel projects now in-development details are being kept under wraps, but there are a few signs that potentially clues us in on what kind of game this will be. Second Dinner is still expanding, but it already has a prototype and playtesting going on for whatever the game will be.

Brode Announced he was leaving Blizzard in April 2018 to start a new studio, saying "After 15 years at Blizzard and nearly 10 years working on Hearthstone, I have made the incredibly hard decision to embark on a new journey".
