De Telegraaf reported on Thursday night that PSG are set to seal a deal for Frenkie de Jong in the summer, paying Ajax €75 million.

Only in De Jong's case, it appears that has happened - and it's those Parisian's again.

Manchester City, Barcelona and PSG were said to be at the front of the queue for De Jong's signature, with reports in the Netherlands suggesting the Ligue 1 champions had jumped ahead of their rivals.

Ajax confirmed to the Dutch daily that talks with PSG have been held, although the club added "there was no definitive agreement... other clubs have also shown interest".

The 21-year-old midfielder has become one of Europe's most sought after products after starring for the Eredivisie side over the past year. There are so many to learn from.

De Telegraaf also says PSG's move came about after a direct request from Kylian Mbappe. There are five games to go until the winter break, I only want to think about the game against PEC this weekend and the next Champions League match against Bayern Munich. Then we will see. Maybe I'll stay for another year, maybe I'll leave. But I am not sure.

Frenkie de Jong remains firmly committed to Ajax for the immediate future, says his agent, as rumours continue to swirl on the Dutchman's future.

De Jong is well aware of the intense speculation surrounding his future but has insisted he's not letting it sidetrack him in any way.

De Jong has been compared to Dutch great Johan Cruyff in terms of his talent, even if his specific skillset means he is not the same kind of player.

And de Jong has admitted he himself is an admirer of Guardiola's passing-based style of football.
