Kevin Durant Rips 'Toxic' Coverage Surronding LeBron James

Physical and mental maturation of Lonzo Ball is apparent to Lakers coach Luke Walton Kevin Durant Says Teaming Up With LeBron is a Toxic Environment Because of His Media Groupies

Though you wouldn't know it from looking at his stats or watching any given Lakers game, LeBron James isn't the spry, headband-wearing teenager that we fell in love with in the mid 2000s. "I can do whatever". You've got to be able to [coexist] with that and fit with that. Because Kyle Korver in Atlanta was the bulk of the offense, and he's not a No. 1 option at all, not even close. His hope here is Anthony will think he did his part to get him another job but it was the Lakers who would not do their part.

Later in the article, Durant criticized the media for being "fanboys" of LeBron and how that makes the situation around the Los Angeles Lakers" star "toxic'. Rose also said that Durant has made it clear he won't be joining the Lakers next summer. "Kawhi enjoys having the ball in his hands, controlling the offense, dictating the tempo with his post-ups; it's how he plays the game.

So I think people are trying to blow it out of proportion, like, 'OK, why do you have LeBron if you don't want to use him?' They don't understand the logic behind it". It has led to a lot of questions about how long he will want to carry a Lakers team with younger players in key positions - as well as one with some inconsistent older players.

"It's just the fact that I played there and I get so much love there", Durant said. "They don't need another guy". "And of course all of that wasn't put in".

"Guys similar to (LeBron), why would they want to play with somebody who does all the same things?" However it read. But that wasn't the full statement. "Any opportunity that comes around where I could become [part of] an ownership group or a front office or anywhere I could just help the team as of right now in my life I would go for it, but who knows what will happen at the end of my career?"

Durant, who is due to hit free agency at the conclusion of this season, has been somewhat rumored to be eyeing off the Lakers as a potential landing spot for him, after an altercation between himself and teammate Draymond Green lent legitimacy to the claims that this season would be KD's last in Golden State.
