Chopra, a former Miss World and the most successful Indian actor to cross over into the American entertainment industry, married Jonas, 26, in a lavish four-day ceremony in Rajasthan state over the weekend.

The article, literally titled 'Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' Love For Real?', fully questioned Chopra and Jonas' relationship going as far as to end the article by telling Jonas to "gallop away as fast as you can". The Cut apologised and took the piece down. "It's been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way".

"Nicholas Jonas married into a fraudulent relationship against his will this past Saturday", the author, Mariah Smith, wrote. Among them were Priyanka's brother-in-law, DNCE's lead singer, Joe Jonas and sister-in-law, Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words. About the article which contained derogatory remarks about her, Priyanka stated, "I don't even want to react or comment". It's not even in my stratosphere. "Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls-t".

Other sources, including Huffington Post India, have gone as far as to call the post racist, citing a misunderstanding of Indian and hindu culture at the core of the article's attack.

'The most special moment was when the curtains opened and I saw him at the altar... While PeeCee looked lovely in a dress with a deep neck that showed off her stunning diamond mangalsutra, Nick looked suave standing by her side in a grey suit that he paired with a blue tee. "These kinds of random things can't disturb it", the Quantico star told local media. "We've removed it and apologize".
