Pippa Middleton and James Matthews welcomed their first child on Monday.

And while its no surprise Pippa hasn't taken the seemingly typical celebrity route and named her baby something quirky, the final title she and husband James Matthews settled on does have plenty of charm - and a special significance to his royal counterparts.

Baby Arthur's middle name might be a tribute to Pippa's brother-in-law.

The 35-year-old younger sister of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a baby boy at the exclusive Lindo Wing in St Mary's Hospital, London, last month.

Pippa and James married in May of a year ago in the village of Englefield, near Reading and their baby news became public knowledge in April 2018.

Middleton married Matthews, a 43-year-old hedge fund manager and brother of British reality star Spencer Matthews, in May 2017.

Middleton threw away the rule book about not giving your children the same name as your siblings' children when she named her son.

Kate and William are parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who was born in April.

"James and Pippa have had a baby boy", it read.

She revealed she passed the first trimester without suffering morning sickness, unlike the Duchess of Cambridge, who experienced hyperemesis gravidarum at the start of all three of her pregnancies.

The Mail on Sunday reported on November 11 that the couple chose Arthur Michael William for their first born-a three-part moniker that just may honor both Pippa's father and James' younger brother.
