With that processor, Fossil says that we can expect a 24 hour lifespan from the Sport's 350mAh battery, which is larger than some previous smartwatch models the company has offered.

Pankaj Kedia, senior director for product marketing at Qualcomm, said the new watch is built on a blending of "technology, fashion and fitness".

Fossil Sport seems to have a few things going for it: It's not too expensive at $255 (about £200 or AU$350), it claims to be the lightest Wear OS watch and it has lots of extras. Announced this September, the Wear 3100's biggest improvement over 2016's Wear 2100 is vastly improved battery life. Customization is the name of the game here, as the Fossil Sport is launching in six colors with what Fossil describes as "endless" strap options.

And, naturally, the whole show will continue to run on Google's Wear OS platform, which was recently given a makeover in order to improve day-to-day usability. The new guy has built-in Global Positioning System functionality in addition to heart rate tracking and NFC support for wrist payments, with the latter two features present on the Versa as well. It is available as of now on Fossil.com, and it will become available in select Fossil brand stores around the world starting November 12. The Fossil Sport can be acquired in 41-millimeter or 43-millimeter sizes.
