Rohit Sharma-led India will be up against Carlos Brathwaite-led West Indies as the two-month long series come to its final leg.

Several new faces have been inducted into the Indian team to test the struggling West Indies team in 3-match T20I series.

"India at home in any format are very formidable, especially with the advent of IPL and the amount of T20 cricket that the Indian superstars play - they definitely start as favourites", he pointed out.

The stats also favour the World T20 holders who have a 5-2 head-to-head record from eight exchanges from 2009-17.

In Cricket, the first Twenty-20 global of the 3-match series between India and the West Indies will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata this evening.

Left-hander Darren Bravo, meanwhile, has not played global cricket in two years because of a protracted dispute with Cricket West Indies, and the last of his 12 T20s came four years ago. They clinically polished off India in the 2016 World T20 semifinal at Wankhede, going on to annex the title. The seasoned Mumbai batsman was the second highest scorer behind Kohli, scoring 389 runs at 129.66, that included two hundreds. In the following five-match ODI series, they posed some challenge before being thrashed 1-3 with a nine-wicket loss in Thiruvananthapuram in the final ODI. The Windies, on the other hand, will look forward to their youngster Shimron Hetmeyer, who scored 259 runs in the ODI series, including a century in Guwahati.

Speaking of which, West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite returns to the venue where he tonked four consecutive sixes to win West Indies the World T20 two year back. "Rishabh (Pant) and Dinesh (Karthik) have a great opportunity to show (the selectors) what they are capable". Pant is expected to fulfil the wicket-keeping responsibilities while Karthik could take on one of the positions in the outfield.

For the first time, India will be without the figure with a monumental body of work when they face West Indies in the opening T20 worldwide.

1st T20I starts at 7 PM IST on November 4, Sunday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The 30-year old Jamaican was part of the team which lost the T20I series 1-2 to Bangladesh in the United States of America.

Where and how to watch the live TV coverage of India vs West Indies? From West Indies' perspective too, the next World T20 is two years away, so it's debatable how much they will gain from this series apart from the fact that their young players will have some valuable worldwide experience.

The match will be telecast on Star Sports network in English, Hindi and Tamil, in both standard as well as HD format.

"Hopefully we can have as exciting a battle as we've had in those two games and hopefully we can get the same result with the West Indies coming out on top".
