"We will forge a new era of peace through strength in outer space", Pence said adding, "space is a war fighting domain, just like the air, land and sea, and America will be just as dominant there as we are here on earth", UPI quoted Pence as saying.

Space is a potential battlefield. Pence is head of the National Space Council, a government body that was revived past year to draw up plans for the space force envisioned by Trump.

U.S. President Donald Trump's planned U.S. Space Command should seek to develop ways for the country's military to operate in outer space, White House advisers recommended on Tuesday, with the government hoping to secure approval for it by 2020.

The National Space Council and National Security Council will also be expected to review current space operational authorities and explore changes to create future guidance to give more flexibility to war fighters.

According to him, trump will soon ask the Congress to unite in one team of military and civilian experts in charge of security in space.

According to Mr Pence, about 60,000 people are now working on space security in the U.S., across various branches of the military and intelligence services. "The time has come to stop studying the problem and start fixing it".

The Pentagon is expected to have enough details by early next year to include a Space Force plan in its 2020 budget request.

'It will be a consolidation, we believe, and from there future Congresses and future administrations can grow and expand and nurture. the Space Force as they see fit'.

But congressional support of the Space Force proposal is not certain, and Pentagon officials have said standing up a new military service could cost billions of dollars. "And there are a number of steps that will be launched in the very short term but that will ultimately lead to the launch of a Department of the United States Space Force in the next national Defense Authorization Act", Pence said.

The administration of U.S. President next year will be to work together with Congress for the establishment of an independent space force.
