Morgan, a father himself, did not stand down or waffle; he maintained that papooses are "ridiculous instruments of emasculation".

Then, in a crossover event, Captain America star Chris Evans leaped to Craig's defense, noting that Morgan has to be "uncertain" of his own masculinity to concern himself with "how another man carries his child".

Morgan's comments sparked a debate on Twitter, with the TV presenter asking U.S. president Donald Trump - who follows him on the social media platform - to wade in with his thoughts.

He added the hashtag #emasculatedBond.

Morgan claimed that he received several responses from men whose "wives/girlfriends told them to..."

Morgan derided the actor as being "emasculated" by carrying out his dad duties.

The 007 star was pictured carrying his youngest child in the traditional style baby carrier when he was photographed by paparazzi.

The Good Morning Britain host posted the mocking comments on Twitter along with an image showing Craig carrying his month-old daughter on his front "in what is often known as a papoose", reports the BBC.

"Any man who wastes time quantifying masculinity is terrified on the inside".

The replies to Morgan's tweet number 15,000, far more than its almost 8,000 likes.

We believe this is yours, Captain America...

"I'm a mechanic and only hours away from becoming a father and I've been looking forward to using the papoose the whole time", tweeted one.

Clearly, he said, the world needs a "007 who looks sharp in a tux & wouldn't be seen dead in a papoose"..
