Selena was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA twice in the last two weeks to monitor her blood cell count, the website reports. News broke on October 10 that Selena was hospitalized twice at the end of September for complications from her 2017 kidney transplant - specifically, a low white blood cell count, according to TMZ.

Selena Gomez was trying to distance herself from the negativity of social media prior to her reported hospitalization for an emotional breakdown.

Selena Gomez has entered a treatment facility in Los Angeles to deal with ongoing issues related to anxiety and depression.

The Bad Liar hitmaker tried to leave shortly afterwards but was told she couldn't, prompting the artist to have a "meltdown" and "freak out" as she tried ripping drips out of her arm. The site notes that the condition could stem from her kidney transplant.

Selena Gomez has been hospitalised after "emotional breakdown". Another added, "I love her with my whole heart".

Insiders claim Gomez hopes that dialectical behavior therapy - which aims to identify and avoid patterns of negative thinking - will help her cope with the stress surrounding her health.

Late last month, Gomez hosted an Instagram Live, telling her followers and fans that she'd been facing depression for the last five years.

The news comes just weeks after Gomez - who just released her collaboration with Cardi B and DJ Snake, "Taki Taki" - told fans she was taking a break from social media. She's gone through it before, so it's not a completely new experience for the actor and singer.

'As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given, ' she wrote.
