Jessica Padgett took her wedding photos alone after her fiancé was killed by an alleged drunk driver past year. Her fiancé, Kendall Murphy, was killed in November 2017 while responding to a crash scene in Daviess County, Fox 59 reported.

As he opened the passenger door of his vehicle to retrieve some protective gear he was struck by another auto.

The day ended up being an "emotional rollercoaster" - particularly when she showed up to meet her bridesmaids and groomsmen and they were "all standing in their places like they would if we were going to get married", she recalled. This foundation not only honored my Kendall, but also took us in as family.

Kendall Murphy was killed in a crash 10 months before their wedding.

Ms Knepp told CBS4 she would've done anything to help the grieving family.

Mandi took photos of Jessica while she put on her dress and did her makeup.

The heartbreaking photos were shared more than 16,000 times, and many people were touched by the emotional post. "She walked with the Universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings".

"I wanted to be where he was at".

Padgett was joined by family and friends on the day, and both the maid of honour and best man delivered their speeches at Murphy's grave site. In pictures she posted on October 7, Padgett and her loved ones can be seen wearing matching red shirts that had "Kendall Murphy" printed on the front.

This past Sunday, Kendall and four other firefighters were honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Washington DC.

The town also honored Murphy at the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department.

"Thank you everyone for making my wedding day special even though I didn't get to marry the man of my dreams", Padgett posted to Facebook the day after her planned wedding.
