And it appears Swift's appeal worked-vote.org was flooded with new registrations across the country in the 24 hours after the singer uploaded her post.

After 24-hours and almost two million Instagram likes later, Vote.org said Tennessee voter registration jumped 65,000 in a day.

President Donald Trump fired back at pop star Taylor Swift (shown above) for her unexpected endorsement of Democratic congressional candidates in her home state of Tennessee.

By way of comparison, there were 190,178 new voter registrations in the entire month of September and 56,669 in August, Guthrie said.

The Bad Blood singer backed Phil Bredesen on Sunday for the upper house in her home state, and unleashed a fierce attack on his opponent, Republican Marsha Blackburn, who now serves in the House.

She threw her support behind Blackburn's opponent, Democrat Phil Bredesen, and encouraged her followers to register before Tuesday's deadline.

Trump was told about Swift's support of Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn.

"As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I can not support Marsha Blackburn", Swift wrote.

"I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country", she wrote.

Taylor Swift may be single-handedly responsible for a tens of thousands uptick in registered voters.

Look what Taylor Swift made you do.

"Thank God for Taylor Swift", Guthrie said.

Swift wrote that the Tennessee Republican's voting record "appalls and terrifies" her, noting that Blackburn opposes reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act and supports businesses that decline to serve gay couples due to their religious views. "Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me", the 28-year-old said. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. "She also believes they should not have the right to marry". Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. Of the 5,183 registrations that Vote.org has received, at least 2,144 of them came after the post, according to Guthrie.

"For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100 percent on every issue, but we have to vote anyway", Swift wrote.

After all, President Trump campaigned for Blackburn in Johnson City, Tennessee, last week and called her a "tremendous woman", as multiple outlets, including Fox News, are reporting. [Taylor Swift] doesn't like your little games and she wants Tennesseans to know that you've been in the swamp long enough.
