The two men are expected to discuss prison reform, gang violence and and manufacturing resurgence in the US.

West has urged the black community to open their hearts to Trump instead of criticizing the president as a racist. The president has also threatened to send in federal forces to clean up Chicago. West's spokesperson confirmed to the Times that the rapper would be at the White House on Thursday. Kanye is reportedly seeking job opportunities for former convicts, while criminal justice reform has reportedly been Kushner's main focus recently.

Jared Kushner, Mr Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, will also be present, the paper reports. At the time, the singer John Legend, a close friend of Mr West, called the meeting a "publicity stunt".

After Thursdays meeting, both West and his famous wife Kim Kardashian West will have met with Trump to discuss prison reform.

He was booed again last month when he appeared on stage after the broadcast of the television show Saturday Night Live season premiere wearing a Trump campaign trademark red MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat. "Thank you, Kanye West", Trump said. I'ma break it down to you right now. But I don't want to hear Joey Chestnut's opinion on things that are not hot dog related. "You see they laughing at me", West said. They bully me. They bullied me backstage.

In an apparent reference to Trump, Yeezy said: "If someone inspires me and I connect with them, I don't have to believe in all their policies".
