The sickening video shows the man yelling "this is great" and counting as he hit each bird.

"Such horrific cruelty clearly has no place in our society", the RSPCA said. A NATIONWIDE search is underway for a man who filmed himself laughing hysterically while lining his 4WD ute up with a flock of emus and mowing them down on a dirt road somewhere in Australia.

The farmhand was questioned near the South Australian border and later charged with causing cruelty to an animal, destruction of protected wildlife and traffic offences.

"Got that one too, and that one".

A video shared on social media this week showed the man appearing to deliberately run over more than a dozen emus as he drove his vehicle along Pellaring Road, Cowangie.

Authorities are now investigating the video, which was believed have been filmed in South Australia.

The animal welfare organisation on Thursday pleaded for help to identify him and is now working closely with police.

RSPCA South Australia's Cheryl Doudle said everybody had a right to be outraged by the footage.

In the footage, the mustachioed man smashed over the emus before he appears to turn the camera on his own face. "We ask that people do not "name and shame" alleged suspects on social media". "But we urge people to please the RSPCA or police if you have any information about this case", the NSW RSPCA said in an online statement, while urging the public to refrain from engaging in mob justice and potential suspects. "In another he used a dead pig like a weight".
