The Vikings may be close to moving on from Treadwell, as it was also reported that the Vikes had signed receiver Aldrick Robinson, a receiver that they in for a workout earlier in September.

After missing two critical field goals in the team's Week 16 game against the Seattle Seahawks and having a underwhelming training camp, the team made a decision to part ways with Bailey.

The Minnesota Vikings have signed kicker Dan Bailey, owner of the second-best field goal percentage in National Football League history and replacement for rookie Daniel Carlson.

According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, head coach Mike Zimmer had a brutal response in the reasoning why Carlson was let go just two games into his career.

Only Zane Gonzalez performed worse than Carlson: He missed two field goals and two PATs. They replaced Walsh with Kai Forbath, an unassuming veteran without a huge leg. The 30-year-old was released by the Dallas Cowboys right before the regular season began in a cost-saving move following his injury-influenced regression in 2017. The last miss came on the game's final play.

Between all the games Sunday, there were nine games that had a missed field goal or failed PAT. "That is frustrating. That shorter one I should never miss like that".

Carlson sent 9 of 10 kickoffs for touchbacks, and the other one was a squib returned for 8 yards to Green Bay's 31.

The Vikings drafted Carlson in the fifth round back in April.
