"Yes, I think I am now perceived in that light", said Griezmann in an interview with AS.

Real Madrid captain and defender Sergio Ramos has lashed out on Atletico Madrid's French forward Antoine Griezmann over his recent claims of being at par with pair of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as world's best player.

Only the best players eat at this "top table" with the general consensus that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been dining there together, alone, for the best part of a decade.

However, former Atletico striker Forlan does not agree with the France World Cup winner's assessment.

"His ignorance is very bold, "Ramos said to reporters at his pre-match press conference". When I listen to this kid talk I remember players like Totti who have won everything and do not have a Ballon d'Or.

"Cristiano and Messi are above everyone", Forlan told Cadena Ser. "Griezmann is still not at their level". But I know other players will emerge for sure.

In contrast to FIFA's prize, the Ballon d'Or victor is determined by votes from journalists, and Griezmann described the prize as more prestigious. I want to make them grow and I have confidence in them to make me grow'. I want to be the most complete I can be.

Griezmann missed out on making the final three for FIFA's The Best awards, with Ramos' old team-mate Ronaldo, and current team-mate Luka Modric making the list.

"Everyone is free to express their opinion but I think he should take the advice of (Diego) Simeone, (Diego) Godin or Koke who represent the values that serve them [Atletico Madrid] well".

"We have helped each other a lot and everything is very positive so that this keeps improving". "Real Madrid start from zero every season".
