The West Hollywood City Council may be about to answer many people's prayers having organised a vote to seek the permanent removal of the landmark from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

About 50 fake Donald Trump stars were found plastered all over the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday morning, The Hollywood Reporter said.

A crew calling themselves The Faction took credit for the act on Twitter, sharing video of the fake stars and threatening more to come should Trump's official star be removed.

Days after the West Hollywood City Council voted in favor of removing President Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame dozens of replica stars appeared on the sidewalk, according to multiple reports.

The star has been through a rough month after being obliterated by a 24-year-old with a pick axe in late July. However, thanks to the work of a conservative street artist and a team of merry star placers, faux versions of the star are now occupying empty spaces on the famed walk.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, a possible Democratic opponent to Trump in 2020, said focusing on Trump's Walk of Fame star was a waste of time, according to TMZ.

The initiative by the city council of West Hollywood comes less than two weeks after the star was vandalized by a man with a pickax.

It's quite hilarious to see a group of pro-Trump street artists become so enraged over the destruction of a star the president got for producing his Miss Universe shows. "We thought Trump Derangement Syndrome was a joke, but I'm pretty sure it's real", the artist continued. The resolution urged the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Los Angeles to remove the star because of what it says is Trump's "disturbing treatment of women and other actions".

Trump's star was recently vandalised by a man with a pickaxe at the dead of the night.
