"There are things and there are things that I cannot say otherwise I will get fined", declared Pogba, as he was asked about his future at United and suggested he can only perform at his best when he feels wanted by his manager.

Pogba captained Manchester United as he helped to inspire the Red Devils to a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League opener at Old Trafford on Friday night.

The French World Cup victor was given the captain's armband with designated skipper Antonio Valencia out injured.

But after Pogba produced a class performance whilst wearing the captain's armband just weeks after leading his country to World Cup glory, it seemed as though everything was happy again.

When he was asked about how different it was playing for France compared to United, this was his response: "I am the same, but it's a different team, obviously".

"I agree to the point that it doesn't matter who you're playing in the Premier League, they're tough".

"I mean, Manchester United, we have to show on the pitch, we have to play well, we have to be focused and we need people to trust us".

"We are never going to find another Andres Iniesta, that's impossible because there is only one and he is in Japan", Barca head coach Ernesto Valverde said. Pogba was denied a move away from United after Mourinho stepped in to block any potential transfer.

The 22-year-old thoroughly enjoyed the outing and is hungry for more of the opportunities Jose Mourinho has given him.

"Are you happy and comfortable then Paul?"

While United have denied that occurred, Wallace feels there will be only be one victor if the club's hierarchy have to make a decision between keeping the player or their manager. "There are things I can not say, otherwise, e I will get fined" he quipped.

'I always love the club.

However, many managers do not like working with a Director of Football and it remains to be seen if Mourinho will kick up a fuss about an eventual appointment.

He is anticipating a hard season as a result, and criticised the club's board for failing to deliver on plans he had put in place "for many months". For me, it was a dream come true.

Luke Shaw grabbed his first goal in senior football to double the lead with seven minutes to play. "I love the club".
