Everton submitted a deal sheet to the Football Association in order to secure extra time to finalise all the details of the move, and Zouma will now be preparing himself to join up with his new teammates.

Everton have signed France centre-back Kurt Zouma on a season-long loan from Chelsea. "We'll wait for a few hours and see what we'll do but it's nearly done", Silva told reporters.

"I don't want to talk only about him because the market is the market".

Multiple reports on deadline day said Everton had reached a deal for Zouma, but an announcement never came after the additions of Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes from Barcelona.

It also means that Silva has nearly completely overhauled his defence after allowing Luke Garbett, Ramiro Funes Mori and Ashley Williams to depart.

It looks like Mourinho is keen to be reunited with Zouma at Old Trafford but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will agree to sell to Manchester United or pursue a loan deal with Everton. "I know not only Nuno but some new players they have bought. For sure he will help us".

Mina emerged as a target following his commanding performances at the World Cup but ultimately moved to Everton on deadline day, despite reportedly having agreed personal terms with United.

"At the end, I need to have problems deciding my XI because it's the only way the club can grow and compete to take each others positions".
