Jurgen Klopp says he has high expectations for Liverpool's ability to challenge for the Premier League title after spending the most of any of his rivals in the close season. There would always be a point where we spent a bit more money. "Joel did yesterday parts of training like Joe did - we will see how they are today", the German tactician added.
"Again, you all ask me about the gap with City, it's nothing to do with City".
Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that the scan Fabinho had on a knock he picked up is clear and that the Brazilian should be fit to face West Ham while Dejan Lovren is unavailable. That we will deserve it even more than previous year.
"The champions Manchester City did not lose any player and brought in (Riyad) Mahrez, so it doesn't make them weaker".
Alisson, Keita and Fabinho are expected to go straight into Liverpool's first-team, while Shaqiri offers an experienced alternative to the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in attack.
"The last few years, I have sat here and had to defend our transfer behaviour, that we sold more than we brought in, but that all made sense". We have to improve everything. It's hard for all the teams. "That's what Liverpool have to do too, but I think they're a centre-half short of winning it". We want to be champions of England, but what about [Manchester] United and the other clubs?
"We can improve our offensive and defensive play but it is nothing to do with City", he said.
"We are still Rocky Balboa and not Ivan Drago, we have to fight more and do more things".
Klopp is yet to win any silverware at Liverpool despite reaching the finals of the 2016 League Cup and Europa League and last season's Champions League, believes Liverpool need some good fortune.
"We are still Rocky Balboa and not Ivan Drago, we are the ones who have to do more and fight more, that must be our attitude". We were in finals, yes, but if we got to the final we should win it this time.
