Barcelona said they reserve the right to buy Mina back, while midfielder Gomes, 25, has cost a £2m loan fee.

Manchester United and Lyon had both tracked Colombia global Mina, who signed a five-year deal after Barca sanctioned his £27.2 million sale.

Linked to the likes of Chelsea throughout the summer, Brazilian Bernard admitted a conversation with Marco Silva persuaded him to move to Everton.

In the immortal words of one Larry David: preeeetty... preeeeetty... pretty good.

"It's important the club want to fight for something".

'I have watched the Premier League for a long time.

BBC reports that Mina's arrival means Everton have spent more than £60m in the past two weeks following the initial £35m arrival of Brazilian winger Richarlison from Watford, a deal that could rise to £50m.

Late move: Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, who starred at the World Cup for Colombia, is off to Everton.

At the age of just 23 and having signed a five-year contract, he could be in line for a long future at Goodison Park.

"I know about Everton's players and I look forward to being able to play with my new team. I am also determined to do my best for Everton".

While Bernard was finalising his transfer at Everton's Finch Farm training ground a club delegation led by the director of football, Marcel Brands, concluded deals for Mina and Gomes in Barcelona.

Gomes has always been a fringe player at Barcelona, despite signing for a fee of £31m plus €20m in add-ons in 2016, with only 46 appearances made in La Liga since joining from Valencia.

"I can promise I will try my hardest and dedicate myself to my work and to trying to make things happen for Everton".
