Everton are looking to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on loan, according to the Mirror.

The report also adds that Everton have discussed moves for Yerry Mina of Barcelona and Marcos Rojo of Manchester United but neither player is close to joining the Toffees.

Zouma arrived at Chelsea in 2014, with a lot of excitement around his talent.

Spending previous year on-loan with Sunderland, suffering relegation from the Championship, the Liverpool Echo reported last month that Browning would seek another loan move this season - but it now may be time to consider a permanent exit.

It might be hard for him to get regular playing time at Chelsea this season, so sending him out on loan makes sense. Manchester United need a defensive upgrade on the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones and Zouma is certainly that.

"Capped twice by France, he lifted the League Cup under Jose Mourinho in 2015".

But heading into the 2018/19 campaign, Marco Silva could partner two of the most promising young centre-backs around at Goodison Park. But, before suffering that terrible cruciate ligament injury in the spring of 2016, Zouma was seen as one of the best young defenders around.

Everton submitted a deal sheet ahead of Thursday's 5pm deadline and were expected to get the transfer ratified on Friday.

Everton have been one of the busiest clubs on the Premier League's transfer deadline day and have already signed Yerry Mina, Andres Gomes and Bernard on last minute deals.
