Arsenal striker Lucas Perez was loaned to Deportivo last season after he failed to impress for the North Londoners in his first season at the Emirates Stadium, the forward recently returned to the club this summer but he will likely be leaving permanently according to reports.

West Ham have been looking for a new striker to bolster their attacking options and now look set to land Perez on a permanent deal.

It will take the club's spending close to £100m as they look to improve on last year's 13th-place finish.

The Spaniard was signed from Deportivo La Coruna for £17m two years ago but struggled to secure a regular first-team role during his debut campaign at Arsenal.

However, he was used sparingly on their pre-season tour of Singapore and did not travel with the squad for their final warm-up games against Chelsea and Lazio in Dublin and Sweden respectively.

With the Baggies unable to offer Premier League football like West Ham, they would have to convince him to turn down a move to London.

Wilshere has jumped the gun by revealing the 29-year-old inside the Hammers dressing room on his Instagram story and it appears like the deal has been wrapped up.

West Ham have already spent big this summer, landing the likes of Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Andriy Yarmolenko - as well as bringing in former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on a free transfer.
