With two different memory specifications on offer, we can't argue that Samsung has remained true to its promise about unpacking its "most powerful phone yet". They work them hard and take all of their features to the max.

Samsung is rushing the Note to market this year, with availability set to begin three weeks earlier than the Note 8. And it's exactly what we have expected it to be.

The company hopes to break through its sales slump with the new note, after it reported last month that its flagship Galaxy S9 phone missed sales targets. The Ocean Blue Note 9, though, has a contrasting yellow S Pen.

This upgrade will be all about the battery for some people.

In the run-up to the launch event, we have come across a number of leaks and rumors surrounding the Galaxy Note 9.

If you need a smartphone that can last your entire busy schedule, Samsung now claims all-day performance with its larger 4,000mAh battery. If that's that not quite enough for you, there's even a variant with a whopping 512GB storage and 8GB of RAM. Here's one place where the Note 9 will make your mouth water: it has an optional 512GB of internal storage.

Oh, the Note 9 also has a microSD card slot for further expansion, not to mention a 3.5mm headphone jack. These are existing Galaxy Note users who are totally hooked to the S Pen. Perhaps most interestingly, you can now use the S Pen to click pictures as well, pressing the button once to trigger the shutter, and pressing it twice to switch between the front and rear cameras.

For fitness, the watch will automatically detect the workouts you're doing, plus there are many more including cycling, yoga and more. The Note 8 can easily match it in terms of the secondary camera, daylight shots and portrait mode - so you won't be upgrading merely for the camera.

At a mega event in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 9 with a bigger battery and an improved S Pen stylus that packs a few new tricks.

Just about everything you could possibly want to know about the Galaxy Note9 has already leaked out, but there's still the official launch event to look forward to later today in NY.

Samsung hopesto differentiate itself with a pop of color, too.

Unlike old DeX phones, however, plugging the Note 9 into a display doesn't prevent you from using the phone as a phone. Priced at $11.99 and available through Samsung direct, it includes on-site technical support and assistance, along with a replacement device if yours breaks. At that point you'll be able to buy the Note 9 from carriers and from Samsung direct, as well as through other retailers.

Packing 21 per cent more battery life than its predecessor, more is definitely more with this phone. The increased battery and storage capacity clearly make it a better phone in real, tangible ways.
