The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also accompanied by Kate's family-including her parents Carole and Michael.

Prince George, who turns five today, is photographed in the garden at Clarence House in London after the christening of his younger brother, Prince Louis earlier this month.

To celebrate, the Palace has released an unseen photo of little George ahead of his big day.

"There'll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world", the future King said in a previous interview.

Prince George of Cambridge, a future king now living as a carefree tot in a royal palace, turns 5 years old on Sunday, giving British royal fans a chance to remember with fondness the day this much-wanted heir came into the world.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday", the caption from the Palace reads.

When former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle visited England in 2016, they couldn't resist meeting George.

Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born at the private maternity wing of St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, the Lindo Wing, at 4.24pm on July 22, 2013, weighing 8lbs 6oz.

The Daily Mail reported that George was spending his birthday on the Caribbean island of Mustique in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with his family.
