Amazon is expecting not just a spurt in its sales over the 36-hour-long Amazon Prime Day but is also targeting a jump in its Prime membership, which leads to brand loyalty.

BACK TO SCHOOL: The company is making a big push in school supplies for Prime Day.

Flipkart's Big Shopping Days will see discounts and offers on over 1,500 smartphones and feature phones.

Amazon has been pushing its Prime subscription in India aggressively over the past year. The discount will reduce its price from the current Rs 4,099 to Rs 2,255.

So what can we expect from Prime Day in the United Kingdom and US?

Stand-up comedy fans can also look out for Amazon's new stand-up reality show, Comicstaan having renowned comedians like Tanmay Bhat, Kaneez Surka, Kenny Sebastian, Biswa Kalyan Rath and Kanan Gill as the mentors. While the Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi will receive a flat 25 per cent discount, the All New Kindle will get a 20 per cent price cut, as the Kindle Oasis will also retail with a 15 per cent discount. It also comes with a voice remote which can be used to play Amazon Prime Video titles with just a voice command.

One big differentiator this year from Amazon is its VR experience.

Shoppers will also be able search for a specific product to see if it has a Prime Day badge - which means it is discounted for the shopping event.

Alexa will also help Amazon Prime users earn discounts this Amazon Prime Day. Home and Furniture, Beauty and Fitness are some of the other categories that will witness price drop. Some of the notable offers are the 128 GB version of the Pixel 2, which can be bought for Rs 42,999, which is Rs 10,000 less than the usual price. No Cost EMI scheme on a host of products, with the EMI limit at up to 12 months will also be offered by Bajaj Finserv.
