All three Lannister siblings were also recognized, with Lena Headey earning her fourth Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as Cersei while her on-screen brothers Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) picked up Best Supporting Actor nods. Other nominees in the category include Jason Bateman ("Ozark"), Ed Harris ("Westworld") and Matthew Rhys ("The Americans").
The 2018 Emmy Awards will air Monday, September 17 on NBC at 8 p.m. ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Joining Danson with an Emmy nomination of her own is Maya Rudolph for her guest arc on The Good Place as Judge Hydrogen, an impartial inter-dimensional judge who rules on matters involving the Good Place and the Bad Place.
Twin Peaks was an Emmys darling during its original ABC run, racking up 18 total nominations across two seasons.
"TBS bravely put a woman over 45 on TV and in turn I only got yelled at by the president once", she said in a statement.
However, there were a number of others who were nominated for the first time for longer-running shows.
Game of Thrones garnered a whopping 22 nominations - the most for any series this year.
The series had been expected to dominate the acting races among the limited series and TV movies - and indeed it did, with Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz, Edgar Ramirez and Ricky Martin all nominated.
Markle's name was submitted for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series" for her role as Rachel Zane on "Suits", but the newly-minted royal wasn't nominated. It was not in the running in 2017.
