The interior ministry has already placed their names on the Exit Control List.

His daughter, Maryam Nawaz, widely seen as his chosen political heir, was sentenced to seven years in prison and is disqualified from contesting the elections.

An anti-graft court in Pakistan today adjourned the hearing in a corruption case against convicted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif after the defence lawyer urged the judge to recuse himself from the case.

On Friday, the accountability court sentenced Sharif to 10 years in jail for owning assets beyond income and one year for not cooperating with the anti-corruption authority, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The father-daughter duo, now in London with Sharif's ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz, is expected to return to Pakistan on Friday. He further added that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are returning Pakistan on July 13. "We will make sure that Sharif and Maryam do not leave the airport and arrested there", he said.

Pakistan opposition leader Imran Khan, a former cricket star who hopes to become the next prime minister, unveiled his party's manifesto Monday ahead of this month's parliamentary elections.

NAB officials have said they have obtained the necessary warrants in this regard and will arrest the duo when they land.

She vowed that getting arrested along with any other sacrifice needed under the banner of "respect to vote" will be made by the leadership or by thousands of PML-N devotees treading the same course as them.

On Friday, July 6th, Supreme Court sentenced Nawaz Sharif for 10 years, Maryam Nawaz for 7 and Captain Sardar for 1 year respectively.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Auranzeb said a large number of party workers will gather in Lahore from all provinces of the country to give "historic welcome" to Sharif and Maryam.
