The victor of the England-Croatia semifinal game will move onto the World Cup Final, where a matchup against France awaits.

In a World Cup filled with exciting comebacks and a record-breaking number of matches decided by penalty kicks, all it took for France to best a high-scoring Belgian team was a single goal.

The experiences that brought him to a World Cup semi-final include being snubbed by a current England team-mate, nutmegging Luka Modric and Euro 2016 heartbreak against Iceland.

Umtiti danced in front of the France fans, while center back partner Varane walked over to them and pumped his clenched fist. Among the spectators watching in St Petersburg was Pamela Anderson (inset), girlfriend of Adil Rami.

Alli's second-half header secured a comfortable last-eight win over Sweden, and set up the clash with Croatia, who beat Russian Federation in a penalty shootout later in the day.

With Brazil out of the picture, France is the most popular team to win the tournament among the betting public with more than $95,000 staked on Les Bleus to repeat their performance from 1998.

"We need to understand it's an important game, but I accept it's very hard after a game with the emotions we had today".

"We had to take advantage a bit more in the counter-attacks, but congratulations to my players and my staff". "We will go into this final to win it, as we have still not gotten over the final".

And now, with England's biggest game in years on the horizon, Alli has directly tweeted fans to show his appreciation for what they've done throughout the World Cup (see below).

'As a team it was a solid performance by us.

This will be the seventh meeting between the two sides, with England winning four, Croatia twice and one draw.

With 10 minutes left and Belgium pressing, Lloris flew off his line to his left to push away a powerful shot from midfielder Axel Witsel.
