India vs England 2018, 1st ODI at Trent Bridge, latest update and cricket score: Pandya continues and he has mixed it up beautifully with back of the length deliveries and slower ones.

England's bid to avenge their T20 2-1 series defeat by India begins on Thursday when the two teams meet for the first encounter of their one day worldwide series.

The India-England encounter in the 50 overs format is quite a significant one for the Indian Team keeping in mind the 2019 Cricket World Cup scheduled in England.

England batsman Alex Hales will miss the first one-day global against India on Thursday because of a side injury.

It was the same ground where England scripted a world record in ODI history after putting 481/6 on board against Australia recently. As skipper Virat has mentioned ahead of the series, India are also looking at experimenting with their batting order to try and find a stable balance ahead of biggest assignment- the World Cup.

While India will be buoyed by their 2-1 T20 series win, England, the top-ranked ODI team in world cricket, come into the series having crushed a below-par Australia 5-0 in their last bilateral engagement. Rohit Sharma scored a fine unbeaten century while Hardik Pandya impressed with both bat and ball.

England: Eoin Morgan (Capt.), Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler (wk), Moeen Ali, Joe Root, Jake Ball, Tom Curran, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Ben Stokes, Adil Rashid, David Willey and Mark Wood.

Apart from the England-India series ending on July 17, Zimbabwe will host Pakistan for five matches from July 13 to 22, the West Indies will play three at home versus Bangladesh from July 22 to 28, Sri Lanka will host South Africa for five matches from July 29 to August 12 and the Netherlands play two at home against Nepal.

India won the toss and elected to bowl in the opening one-day global against England at Trent Bridge on Thursday. In the recently concluded three-match T20I series, India's spin-twins Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav showed the audience what they are capable off.
