Cristiano Ronaldo's former Manchester United team-mate Paul Scholes has reacted to the news of the 33-year olds transfer to Juventus from Real Madrid, suggesting that the move is going to be tough on the Portuguese attacker.

In addition to that, Juve will have to pay the €100 transfer fee to Real Madrid.

The signing of the latest Ballon d'Or victor and top scorer in the Champions League for the last six seasons represents a major coup for Juve, who have had a stranglehold on the Italian title since 2012 but have not won Europe's top prize since 1996.

Reports in Spain claimed that Bale had scrapped plans to meet with club chiefs because of Cristiano Ronaldo's potential move to Juventus and Lopetegui replacing Zinedine Zidane. I can only thank all of them for the love and affection I have received.

"But I think the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that's why I asked the club to accept to transfer me".

Juventus themselves have had quite a successful recent history, having won the past 7 Serie A titles.

In a letter posted on the Real website, the five-time Ballon d'Or victor said his time in the Spanish capital, during which he became their record goalscorer, had been one of the happiest in his life.

Ronaldo has agitated for a move in the past only to commit himself to the Spanish giants, but the club announced on Tuesday that he is to join Juventus for £105m on a four-year deal. Now, Cristiano Ronaldo will say "adios" to Real Madrid, joining Italy's Juventus in a deal worth millions!

"It has been nice playing for Real Madrid".

Neville was Ronaldo's team-mate at Manchester United between 2003-2009 before the five time Ballon d'Or victor moved to the Bernabeu in a then World Record £80 million deal. "I ask everyone, and especially our followers, to understand that." he added.

Evra, 37, believes there is something special about Juventus that helps to prolong the careers of ageing players and said they would make sure Ronaldo will be at the next World Cup in 2022.

He most recently lead Portugal to the Round of 16 at the 2018 World Cup, where they were beaten by Uruguay.

"The Cristiano Ronaldo affair has become a game of chess", the newspaper said.

Ronaldo won 15 titles with Ramos at Real Madrid. I go but this shirt, this shield and Santiago Bernabeu will follow them always feeling like something of mine wherever you are.
