During the band's performance at The Tobin Center of Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, they celebrated England's win over Sweden to reach the World Cup semi-final by performing the "Three Lions" anthem with the crowd.

World Cup fever has struck the country as Gareth Southgate has led his side to the World Cup semi final.

An hour later when fans were still in the stadium and singing their hearts out, Southgate returned to the pitch and waved his arms as if conducting an orchestra.

With England taking aim at the grandest of prizes, '"It's coming home" has become the tagline to a remarkable campaign. Demi Lovato from the top as England continues to triumph. "And yet, as I sat in Frank Skinner's living room watching England play Sweden - the team confidence and spirit so clearly there, Harry Maguire's and Dele Alli's headers sealing the day, Jordan Pickford a god among men - I started to experience a odd new feeling". Meanwhile, it's been a good week for the inescapable "Three Lions" song, even if it has been ruined forever for those of us who appreciated its charm up until now.

Skinner, who formed part of a track originally produced for Euro '96 alongside comedy partner David Baddiel and the Lightning Seeds, is delighted to be back under the brightest of spotlights.

Indeed, when even the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is forced to admit it's coming home, then you know the battle is already won.
