During the band's performance at The Tobin Center of Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, they celebrated England's win over Sweden to reach the World Cup semi-final by performing the "Three Lions" anthem with the crowd.

World Cup fever has struck the country as Gareth Southgate has led his side to the World Cup semi final.

An hour later when fans were still in the stadium and singing their hearts out, Southgate returned to the pitch and waved his arms as if conducting an orchestra.

Skinner, who formed part of a track originally produced for Euro '96 alongside comedy partner David Baddiel and the Lightning Seeds, is delighted to be back under the brightest of spotlights.

Indeed, when even the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is forced to admit it's coming home, then you know the battle is already won.
