While plot details for the last ever instalment of the HBO hit are being kept under wraps, Arya Stark actress Maisie Williams has given fans a hint at what could be in store for her character.

The actress posted an image of her blood covered sneakers to Instagram with the caption: "Goodbye Belfast".

Maisie went on to explain how she has never found Game of Thrones misogynistic, despite many criticising it for just that. Luckily, we have Maisie Williams' Instagram account.

Adding fuel to the rumour fire, William's co-star Lena Headey, who plays Cersei, commented on the post with the word "Queen".

The final season Game of Thrones will consist of six episodes, rumoured to all be movie length. Goodbye Arya. Goodbye Game of Thrones. 'What a joy I've had.

Just one month earlier, Williams opened up about how "surreal" it was to end Game of Thrones during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Either way, it definitely seems she's teasing a bloody final season for her character, which should get lots of fans excited. Maisie's revelation could easily mean that the other female characters have been killed.

One of the last remaining survivors of Season 1 - along with her sister, Sansa - Arya Stark is the daughter of the doomed Lord of Winterfell, Eddard Stark.

Fans will have a while to wait to find out if there is any truth to the hashtag, with the show not due to return until 2019.
