Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes is receiving some interesting offers for next season.

Arsenal have been linked with Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega for two weeks now but current reports say that the Argentine worldwide to coming to the Emirates Stadium this summer. The last two seasons though, have been nothing short of disastrous for the Portuguese, who has failed to command a regular place in the first-team setup at Camp Nou.

The experienced Lichsteiner will provide much needed competition for Hector Bellerin at right-back but the Spaniard is likely to start the season as first choice given his new teammate will need a period of integration, particularly given Switzerland have reached the knockout stages in Russian Federation. And, it has been clear for quite some time that he will be on his way out of Barcelona soon.

The 27-year-old who also holds the club record of most expensive signing at £56m last summer looked delighted to have broken the record with a fist pump celebration. However, the deal is believed to keep him at the Emirates until 2022, one year longer than a previous extension he signed last year.

The Gunners do seem to be in need of a midfielder, with Jack Wilshere leaving his boyhood club this summer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona could be looking to cash in on midfielder Andre Gomes over the summer, with new Arsenal manager Unai Emery keen on taking the Portugal global for around £30m, The Independent says.
