Trump says he is considering two women for Supreme Court

Firstly, Trump has said he wants an "extraordinarily well qualified" nominee with sterling credentials on his or her resume.

In addition to talking about the Supreme Court, Mr. Trump also told reporters that he planned to discuss a variety of topics - including Syria, Ukraine and elections - with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russian Federation during their inaugural summit meeting next month in Helsinki, Finland. President Ronald Reagan appointed Kennedy, but the justice was considered a swing vote during his time on the bench. You know, there's so many elements go into the making of a great justice of the Supreme Court. At one point, he said he would probably interview six or seven candidates, including possibly two this weekend.

Trump is at his Bedminster, New Jersey, private golf club.

The president said he was not intending to ask candidates about their positions on Roe v. Wade, the landmark abortion rights case that the court decided in 1973.

After he won the election, Trump continued to say the judges he would appoint would be "pro-life" judges and that if Roe was overturned, the question of abortion would be settled by individual states.

Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the majority leader, described a similar timeline on Friday in an interview with Fox News. "And probably not. They're all saying, 'Don't do that, you don't do that, you shouldn't do that, ' but I'm putting conservative people on". His opinions are, you know, so well written, so brilliant. CBS News' Weijia Jiang reports from the White House. "I love that issue if they're going to actually do that". "You've got to hit every one of them".
