If you are on Xbox Live and having troubles with the party system, that is probably due to the Comcast outage.

Downdetector.com, a website that tracks internet outages in real-time, received more than 11,000 reports of outages from Comcast customers on the East Coast, Colorado and California.

The company directed customers to try its status center online and said crews were working to restore service.

Comcast has also confirmed that one of its "large backbone network partners had a fiber cut", and that that may be responsible for the outages.

Comcast, which is the parent company of CNBC, reported through the outlet's Twitter account that there is a "nationwide outage impacting some of our internet, video and voice customers". It is now affecting our business and residential internet, video and voice customers. "Comcast is working on the issue".

A Comcast sign is seen as the US media group submitted a $30.7 billion bid for Sky on April 25 in Miami.

In company statistics released March 2018, the number of Xfinity home customers was 1.79 million.

Reports indicated that the outage mainly affected cable service, although there were reports of the loss of Internet and phone service.
