Hardwick, 46, is almost twice Dykstra's age, and dated her from 2012 to 2014. In the article she describes her ex as a man who "grew from a mildly successful podcaster to a powerhouse CEO of his own company".

"Chris Hardwick had no operational involvement with Nerdist for the two years preceding the expiration of his contract in December 2017", a spokesperson for Legacy Entertainment said. Dykstra, 29, published an essay called "Rose-Colored Glasses: A Confession", that says an ex-boyfriend who was "almost 20 years" older - Hardwick is 46 - pressured her into sex against her will (and found it amusing as she "laid tears") and exhibited "controlling behavior", such as ordering her to stay in their hotel room while he attended parties at San Diego Comic-Con.

Chloe Dykstra didn't name her abuser in her Medium essay. Her essay also includes a discussion of the #MeToo movement, which inspired her to come forward after more than a dozen attempts over the years (she's nearly 30). She also wasn't allowed to drink - Hardwick is known to be sober, according to - and to not take any photos of them as a couple. "When I found out, I collapsed on the floor, terrified he would be furious with me". "With the help of a therapist, a psychiatrist, good people, plus a lot of hard work, I've managed to rebuild my life and I'm in a much better place", she writes. Hardwick would allegedly expect Dykstra to be ready to have sex with him upon his return from work, regardless of her interest, often bringing Dykstra to tears. "More common than you'd think", she wrote. Sometimes he'd let me go play D&D, but I always had a curfew. "He insinuated I would be ungrateful to not accept it", she wrote. She claimed that one time, her boyfriend forced her to stay in her hotel room while he partied in San Diego with his friends.

She wrote that she was writing the essay to obtain closure and to offer a warning about abusive relationships.

Chloe says all of this left her demoralized, mentally and physically, lost, withdrawn, and at times suicidal. Dykstra is 29 years old; Hardwick is 46.

Though she did not mention her ex by name, speculation has focused on Chris Hardwick, whom Dykstra dated from 2011 to 2014, which many believe is the time she's referring to in the essay. Dykstra says she was also "pressured" to take an on-camera job at her boyfriend's company, even though she didn't want to work for him (she's co-hosted Nerdist's cosplay show Just Cos).

Since Dykstra went public with her claims earlier today, pressure has been building on AMC to halt the June 17 Season 2 debut of Talking With Chris Hardwick, either permanently or at least until a full investigation into the actress' claims is conducted.

She continued: 'I have audio/video that will support and prove numerous things I've stated in this post.

"I'm devastated to read that she is now accusing me of conduct that did not occur", Hardwick said to conclude his statement.
