The third way to make the phone's bezels particularly slim is the in-display fingerprint scanner, which is Vivo's third attempt at the technology after previous phones like the X20UD and X21. That fingerprint scanner is not visible on the phone's body, as it is placed underneath the phone's display. We hope it will be launching in other places, but right now it's only confirmed as a device for those in China where the price has yet to be revealed.

The Vivo Nex is a powerful smartphone, with the high-end model boasting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of built-in storage. Let's dive in and check out the specifications of both the devices.

Vivo NEX will be out in China soon. At the front there is a retractable 8MP front camera. From being the first to put a Hi-Fi audio chip in a smartphone, launching the world's thinnest smartphone at the time of its release, to taking the first In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology to market, time and again Vivo has revolutionized and propelled the mobile user experience to another level.

Coming to specs, the Vivo NEX offers a 6.59-inch FHD+ 19.3:9 Super AMOLED display.

What's mentioned above are the major differences between Vivo NEX variants. That all-screen design wouldn't have been completely possible if Vivo didn't have the guts to stick the 8 megapixel front camera in a retracting mechanism. The glass back is coated with what Vivo calls "Holographic Diffraction Dynamic Color" illusion technology, which sees thousands of "diffraction units" laser engraved onto the back of the device to create a "dreamlike sci-fi effect".

The rear camera system contains two lenses, one 12MP with f/1.8 and another one with 5MP f/2.4. Vivo continues to pursue the ultimate AI photography technologies with AI Scene Recognition, AI HDR, AI Filters and AI Photo Composition.

The Vivo NEX is powered by 4,000mAh battery that is enabled with support for 22.5W fast charging through USB-C. The handset includes a dedicated button for activating Jovi Intelligent Voice Assistant. Jovi can be used to launch apps, operate as per voice commands and perform other standard smart assistant tasks. Now, after showing off a concept at MWC, Vivo is delivering the NEX which goes all in on all-screen. Also, the handset is optimized to perform better while playing games built with Unreal Engine.

The device is available for pre-orders from tomorrow (13 June) and will be available in stores from June 23 in China. The Nex with a Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Yuan 3,898 (or approx Rs 41,057). The top bezel, bottom and side bezels on the Vivo NEX stand at 2.16 mm, 5.08 mm and 1.71 mm respectively.
