"She is really shy", her father says at her audition for America's Got Talent.

In a post on her Facebook page Courtney Hadwin said: "I didn't know what to expect when I auditioned for America's Got Talent but the Golden Buzzer was more than I ever could have dreamed of".

"You are not from this era; you are from a whole different era", Howie Mandel told her.

Courtney amazed the judges with her version of the old song "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding.

First she was on "Ellen", then on NBC's "Little Big Shots".

Judges said they were impressed by her talent with Judge Simon Cowell said she was like a lion on the stage. Watch the video to see her awesome performance.

She even made no-nonsense judge Simon Cowell, who is her favorite, smile from ear-to-ear. He continued, "I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan".

She first went viral when a video of her singing at her school lunchtime open mic session got loads of views on YouTube.

Courtney danced around on stage, belting out the lyrics, while everyone in the audience was shocked by the young performer. I am not Clive Davis, I am Howie Mandel and I can't sign you to a record deal. "The only thing I can do for you, young lady, is..." Mandel shared, as he leaned over to smack the coveted Golden Buzzer, sending her directly to the live rounds of the competition.

Courtney competed in The Voice Kids UK a year ago but missed out on the top prize.
