Almost two years after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, the former power couple have reached a new temporary custody agreement over their six children for this summer, Us Weekly confirms.

The Blast reports Jolie could lose primary custody if she doesn't work on her relationship with Pitt.

But now the Oscar victor has been told to take steps to improve the children's relationship with their father, according to the documents.

A judge in Jolie and Pitt's divorce case stated that the children "not having a relationship with their father is harmful to them", and added that "it is critical that each of them have a healthy and strong relationship with their father and mother".

In an attempt to further improve access, the court has ordered Jolie to give Pitt the mobile phone numbers of each child so he can call them anytime.

A rep for Pitt had no comment.

Cape Town - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a new custody agreement in their bitter divorce battle.

In the spirit of strengthening the relationship with Pitt, the court has laid out a summer schedule for the children, minus Maddox, to spend time with the actor over the summer.

From June 27 to July 1 he will get the children for 10 hours a day and then in July he will see them from July 8 to 14 for four hours a day.

Brad will not have all the kids at once, but he'll designate one or two of the children to spend time with at a time.

Pitt will then get custody of the kids in California from July 21 to July 29, where they will visit their therapists and doctors on occasion. The schedule doesn't include Maddox, 16, because he's older and the judge has decided that he should decide on his own how much time he wants to spend with his father. The court also bars her from reading the children's text messages with Pitt or from giving out a number to a phone that she secretly monitors.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, claiming the separation was "for the health of the family". From early to mid-July, he'll have the kids for four consecutive days, and in late July they'll stay with him in Los Angeles for about a week.

While in the care of Pitt, Jolie is only allowed to call the kids one time per day at a time agreed on in advance by both parents.

In some ways, the globe-trotting Jolie has come to resent Pitt for "essentially forcing her to settle down in Los Angeles with the kids", Us Weekly reported in May.
