As for the film's stars, Keaton notably played Batman in Burton's action hero flicks in the '90s, while DeVito played the villain Penguin in the same films.

Burton is an especially adept choice for adapting one of Disney's darker classics, and Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora sets the tone of the film with her haunting rendition of "Baby Mine", the song that Dumbo's mother sings to her baby elephant. We got our first good look at the film in today's teaser trailer, but we wanted to take a closer look still.

While some might have been anxious about how Dumbo would translate into a live action adaptation, the teaser show's there's nothing to worry about.

Dumbo the elephant is flying back to the big screen, this time with a Tim Burton twist. It's also a surprising departure for Burton, whose name has become synonymous with a Gothic flair and kabuki-mask faces. Will Vandevere's Dreamland attractions prove to be more than it appears? Holt and his children, newcomers Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins, are tasked with carrying for the title newborn by snappily dressed circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito).

Cape Town - Disney has just released the first teaser trailer for the live-action remake of Dumbo. Dumbo is directed by iconic filmmaker Tim Burton, who has been working with Disney ever since Alice in Wonderland and most recently made Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Dumbo opens on March 29, 2019.

After finding fame at the circus, Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist in a new entertainment venture called Dreamland, according to the Disney Movie Trailer YouTube page.
