Could LeBron James Wind Up In Boston This Summer?

Brown and Tatum are both future stars, and both Gordon Hayward and Horford have made All-Star teams in the past.

Just as the Celtics rejuvenated themselves under head coach Brad Stevens, James was there to meet the franchise at the rim again, this time having returned to the wine-and-gold.

That was the case when the Celtics point guard gave an ambiguous response to New York Times reporter Sopan Debb when asked about his future with Boston.

After watching what the Warriors did to the Cavaliers in the Finals, Irving nearly seems bold for talking about a championship.

Irving won't sign the max extension for which he is eligible this summer - logically and financially, it would make little sense, and he confirmed his plan to hit unrestricted free agency on Tuesday.

A lot of the news coming out of Boston hasn't been the best.

In that Game 7, the Celtics came up short despite an impressive defensive performance, putting together one of the worst offensive showings of the postseason. One, because he could very well be a one-year rental, and two, because the Nuggets don't have the assets that other teams do, but on the off-chance that the Celtics and Nuggets make a deal for Irving, here are three possibilities for what that trade could look like. The big draft year for the Celtics could be next season, as they own the Philadelphia 76ers' (top 1 protected) or Sacramento Kings' (top 1 protected) pick, the Memphis Grizzlies (if it falls outside the top 8) and the Los Angeles Clippers pick (if it falls outside the top 14).

"For sure", Irving said.

Since Horford's contract is too hefty for a player you can't build around if you wish to get past the second round of the playoffs, Hayward would probably be the sought after commodity for Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman. Throw in a healthy Hayward to a rotation with Kevin Love, who averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds this season while shooting 41.5 percent from three-point range, and you have yourself a solid core that can challenge for 50 wins in the Eastern Conference.

Is giving up Hayward, Morris and Rozier to land James worth it?

However, Ainge would have to understand the risks of this move, especially when offering a package including Hayward.

The NBA could be set for a huge shake-up in the league come July 1 when some of the league's best players could enter free agency.

Irving should probably be careful what he wishes for, because one question a day during the regular season would end up being a lot of questions by the end of the season.
